NEWSLETTER-February
2007
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose unto heaven.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1
“I just came to see a soul saved. Ain’t that what it’s all about?” – Kenneth
D. Hinson
Doesn’t it seem as though time is just flying by? The New Year has
already arrived! It’s like a time of “Jubilee” for me. Debts of the past are
forgiven (wouldn’t that be great?) and we re-focus on what’s most important
– seeing souls saved for the Kingdom of Christ. But you know, we’ve already
been forgiven – through the Blood of the Lamb who died on Calvary. Now we
must spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I’ve been enjoying a CD gift from
some personal friends of mine. I quoted the tagline form a song on that CD
in the opening of this newsletter. We have a great deal of fun as we travel
about, singing the good news of Jesus Christ and telling of what He’s done
for us. It IS a wonderful time of fellowship. I believe God wants us to be
happy Christians. But make no mistake; Curtis Hyler & Jubilation
focus our ministry on seeing souls saved, not just in 2007, but for as long
as we walk this earth.
God
blessed us with a busy ministry schedule in the fall of 2006, where travel
was not too demanding. We did make two long trips, to West Virginia and
Pennsylvania, to sing for some wonderful friends, but most of our travel was
kept within NC and eastern Virginia. This made it easier to spend more time
with our families through the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Our new
bass singer, Mark Swinson, is doing a tremendous job with his powerful bass
voice and his heart for ministry. Be sure to come by and speak a word of
encouragement to Mark as traveling with the rest of us can be a bit
overwhelming! At one singing, we were able to do a few songs with our former
bass singer, Jim Simpson. He is doing quite well and it was indeed a
blessing to see him and re-new old friendships. He is singing with the
Ambassadors now. Be sure to see them when they are in your area.
God
is calling us to even more active ministry in 2007. In the coming weeks we
will be at Second Community Baptist Church in Newport News, VA; Renewed
Vision Worship Center in Elizabeth City, NC; Mt. Carmel Methodist Church in
Pikeville, NC; Victory Praise & Worship in Scotland Neck, NC; Original
Church of God in Lexington, NC (can’t wait to see Brother Pat and the
wonderful people of God); Faith Baptist Church in Efland; Albemarle Baptist
Church in Edenton, NC; Sweet Home Church of God in Bear Grass, NC; and a
return trip to “Grand Old Gospel” in Chocowinity, NC. Be sure to check our
schedule on the website regularly to see when we’ll be close to you, and
invite all of your churched and un-churched friends to come along. We have
been in the studio working on some material we think will be a blessing to
all, so look for a NEW CD coming very soon! It will be a collection of old
quartet songs done in traditional quartet styling. We had so much fun
recording them for you. Pick up your copy soon!
Remember, we covet your prayers. God is at work daily, but there are powers
constantly at work against us. Please pray we will be strong and effective
witnesses, proclaiming boldly the love of God the Father, the Grace of Jesus
Christ our Savior, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. We are praying for
you too.
Until
next time, keep looking up, and may God richly bless you,
Your
brother in Christ,
Duke
